ARCHERS for the Lord®,

aka The Association of Relaxed Christian Home Educators,

is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded on the ideas and ministry of Mary Hood, nationally known as "The Relaxed Home Schooler®".

She believes that a "relaxed home school" develops out of the mindset that you are a family, not a school; a dad, not a principal; a mom, not a teacher; and that you have individual relationships with your children, not a classroom. This mindset helps you to stress out less over school-like expectations, and relax and enjoy your family.

ARCHERS ran a resource center in Kennesaw GA for nine years. This center closed in 2006. We are currently in the process of opening a new one in the Cherokee County, GA area. In the meantime, Mary is teaching some classes in a family home in the Hickory Flats area. The plan is to open summer of 2016 with some robotics, art, and drama camps, and have a full program starting up in fall, 2016.

All ARCHERS programs are open to all home-schooling families, without regard to race or national origin.

ARCHERS is a Christian-based organization, and all teachers, members of the board, and some volunteers are required to sign a simple statement of faith in Jesus and belief in the Bible. However, those of other faiths are welcome to attend classes or participate in programs, provided they adhere to standards of discipline, dress, language, and deportment appropriate to the Christian environment that they are entering by choice.
